ConnectiCare Supports 51 Non-Profit and Municipal Organizations across Connecticut

03/02/2022

FARMINGTON, CT (February 14, 2022) – ConnectiCare, a leading health plan based in Farmington, recently announced donations to more than 50 community organizations in Connecticut through the Neighborhood Assistance Act (NAA) Tax Credit Program. The program, which is managed by the Department of Revenue Services (DRS), is designed to provide corporations with the option to make donations to non-profits and municipal organizations in exchange for a tax credit. ConnectiCare’s contributions go to organizations that support community health, as well as those that enrich the lives of the state's residents.

"We’re committed to creating healthier futures for our customers and community. Supporting these vital organizations and their important work across our state is one of the many ways we bring this mission to life, " said Kim Kann, Associate Vice President of Public Relations and Corporate Communications at ConnectiCare.

In celebration of its 40th anniversary in 2021, ConnectiCare launched a giving back initiative focused on supporting food security and mental health organizations in Connecticut through both financial contributions and volunteer efforts. Its participation in the NAA Tax Credit program builds upon ConnectiCare's commitment to the state's local non-profits and residents.

The NAA Tax Credit Program aims to provide municipal and tax-exempt organizations with funding by offering a tax credit for businesses that contribute to the entities. Typically, ConnectiCare visits each organization for a formal, in-person presentation of the contributions. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the company mailed the donations to each organization this year to ensure all staff members' and volunteers' safety.
