Open enrollment for 2020 plans has ended. But in some cases, you can enroll in an individual health plan outside of the annual open enrollment period.
To be eligible, you must have what's called a "qualifying life event," such as losing coverage due to a job change or coming off a parent's plan. These events may make you eligible for a Special Enrollment Period.*
You have a limited amount of time from the date of the qualifying life event to enroll or change your plan. So, don’t delay.

An individual will not be enrolled under a special enrollment period until an application is completed, reviewed, and sufficient proof of an individual’s qualifying event is provided.
