ConnectiCare Donates $25,000 to Connecticut Foodshare, Packs Tens of Thousands of Meals through Volunteer Events

ConnectiCare works hand in hand to fight hunger and food insecurity in Connecticut through significant financial and volunteer support.

FARMINGTON, Conn. – December 18, 2025 – Throughout the year, ConnectiCare strengthened its long-term relationship with Connecticut Foodshare, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting hunger and food insecurity in Connecticut through significant financial and volunteer support.

In 2025, ConnectiCare sponsored Connecticut Foodshare events, including the Walk Against Hunger, Golden Scoop, and Thanksgiving For All. As part of the $25,000 sponsorship, ConnectiCare employees attended and participated in the events, winning Golden Scoop contest by packing 830 bags, totaling 1,660 pounds of pasta. This fall, ConnectiCare also packed over 43,000 pounds of food, equivalent to more than 30,000 meals at multiple bread packing events.

"We are truly grateful to ConnectiCare for their continued partnership," said Jason Jakubowski, president and CEO of Connecticut Foodshare. "Their commitment goes beyond financial support. It reflects a shared belief that no one in Connecticut should face hunger alone. Together, we're building stronger communities and ensuring that families across our state have access to the nutritious food they need to thrive."

“ConnectiCare is proud to work hand-in-hand with Connecticut Foodshare to bring essential resources to those in need,” said Kimberly Kann, AVP of growth and community engagement at ConnectiCare. “Consistent access to high-quality, nutrient-packed foods is not only vital for maintaining a healthy lifestyle, but for basic human well-being. That’s why our ConnectiCare team is so passionate about supporting the impactful work done by our friends at Connecticut Foodshare.”
