FARMINGTON, CT (June 2, 2023) – ConnectiCare, a leading health plan in Connecticut, has appointed Mark Meador as its next president. Mr. Meador will oversee the health plan’s business in Connecticut and Massachusetts. He succeeds Roberta Wachtelhausen, who has served as interim president since November 2022.

He has worked extensively in Connecticut’s regulatory environment and is uniquely positioned to represent us,” said Michael Palmateer, President, Health Plans at the EmblemHealth family of companies.
Mr. Meador has been with ConnectiCare since 2019, serving as the company’s general counsel. Before joining ConnectiCare, he spent over 20 years with Aetna in various executive positions. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions with other insurance carriers, including Prudential, and worked for a private law firm in Atlanta, Georgia. “I’m honored to lead ConnectiCare and continue the company’s legacy of community commitment,” said Mr. Meador.
Mr. Meador holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree from Emory University and is a graduate of the Emory University School of Law. He is authorized house counsel in Connecticut, a member of the Georgia Bar, and admitted to the Georgia Courts, U.S. Supreme Court.
