Creditable Coverage for Medicare Part D
As you may know, all Medicare-eligible individuals are eligible for a prescription drug program. As an employer, you are required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to notify Medicare-eligible persons covered under your plan by October 15th of each year about whether their existing prescription drug plan is at least as good as the standard Medicare prescription drug program, also defined as creditable coverage. New state law for dependents age 26
A state law effective July 1, 2011, mandates that dependent children who turn 26 must be allowed to remain on their parent’s health plan until the policy anniversary date on or after the date the dependent child turns age 26. ConnectiCare has implemented this law for all Connecticut fully-insured groups.
