What is a 275 electronic attachment?
A 275 electronic attachment allows providers to submit medical records and supplemental documentation electronically to support a claim. When submitted correctly, electronic attachments can help:
- Speed up claim processing
- Reduce paper submissions
- Minimize lost or mismatched documentation
Attachment submission options
Providers have two options for submitting attachments to ConnectiCare:
- The SSI Group supports the full HIPAA 275 transaction, allowing for compliant, secure, and standardized submission of medical records and claim documentation. To register, contact vpsregistration@ssigroup.com.
- Availity Essentials portal enables providers to upload supporting documents for claims but does not support the full 275 transaction. Use Availity for attachment uploads only. It is intended for quick, simple uploads rather than full electronic attachment workflows.
