ConnectiCare will update our Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) files to comply with the federal Affordable Care Act. The update, which will only affect our commercial line of business, will go into effect June 1.
We’re letting you know in case you need to readjust your practice management systems.
The update will enable providers to better match the appropriate EFT with the corresponding ERA easily. The changes will include:
- TRN02 in the ERA: Removing the two digit bank code preceding the check number so it matches the EFT
- TRN03 in both the EFT and ERA: ConnectiCare’s Tax Identification Number (TIN) will now match. Different TINs will be used to differentiate between the fully-insured and self-funded accounts.
- TRN04 in the ERA: Delete this field because it’s unnecessary.
