HIPAA 5010 and ICD-10 Readiness
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requires all impacted parties (e.g., health plans, hospitals, clearinghouses, etc.) to follow specific standards when transmitting electronic data pertaining to health care administrative transactions. ConnectiCare is taking the needed steps to be compliant with the ICD-10 standards.
Keep this date in mind:
October 1, 2014 – The ICD-9 code set will be replaced by ICD-10. ConnectiCare is well underway with our internal action plan to ensure we are compliant with the required cutover date in October 2014. I want to know more.
