Connecticut domiciled employer groups may decide to offer benefits to employees working 20 or more hours per week. When an employer chooses to extend benefits to part-timers, all employees must be treated equally with respect to participation, eligibility, and contribution. If an employer does not extend benefits to part-timers, then only those employees working 30 or more hours are eligible. ConnectiCare must be made aware of an employers decision to extend coverage to part-timers. This decision can be made at the initial effective date or upon renewal. Massachusetts domiciled employer groups may not offer benefits to employees working less than 30 hours per week.
