      Managing a Condition | Depression

      Depression Defined

The definition of depression is an episode of profoundly bad feelings that are prominent in a person's life and persist, on a daily basis, for at least two weeks.

      What causes depression?

      Two Important Questions

      1. During the past month, have you often been bothered by feeling down, depressed or hopeless?

      2. During the past month, have you often been bothered by little interest or pleasure in doing things?

If you answered 'yes' to either or both of these questions you might benefit from discussing this with your primary care physician or call the Mental Health and Substance Abuse number on the back of your ID card.
