New Health Plan Option for Small Business

A Price Tailored For Your Employees’ Needs

August 24, 2010

Farmington, CT – Expecting increased demand from small businesses shopping for health insurance, ConnectiCare is now offering a new small business health plan to add more choices to its current products. ConnectiCare aims to put in the hands of small business owners the ability to pick a health plan that fits their employees’ needs and budget.

This new product will provide a wider choice of individual cost-share amounts in exchange for getting a lower monthly premium. Businesses can find that the monthly premium for the $1,000/$2,000 deductible, co-insurance plans can be substantially less than a small business plan without the deductible and coinsurance.

We recognize that every small business is different; a three person bicycle repair store has much different health plan needs than a 40 person financial firm. Depending on your employees, they may want to choose to take some more risk with a higher deductible in order to reduce their monthly payroll deduction.

"We are expecting more small business people, who do not currently offer insurance, may soon be enticed to look at options again due to the new federal health reform law. Like buying a new car, we want them to know we have all the options, price ranges, and colors available here. Given today’s still precarious economy, it is important we deliver on a range of products and budgets," says Michelle Zettergren, ConnectiCare’s head of Sales and Marketing.

Members of these plans will be able to access their primary physician at any time for a $30 copayment per visit. All other covered services are subject to a $1,000 individual/$2,000 family deductible. Once their deductible is met, members are responsible for 50% coinsurance up to a maximum of $3,000 individual/$6,000 family. The plan then pays 100% for covered services once the out-of-pocket maximum is met.

These plans are compliant with the new federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).
