ProxyMed

ConnectiCare is participating in ProxyMed. ProxyMed is a service company founded and developed by leading health care insurers to provide a real-time, Internet-based system that connects physicians, payors and other constituents to handle their administrative transactions. Founding investors include some of the nation's leading health care insurers: Aetna, Anthem, CIGNA, Health Net, Inc., Oxford, PacifiCare, and WellPoint Health Networks. ConnectiCare is the first non-founder health care company in the US to participate in ProxyMed.

Physicians and other healthcare providers will be able to use the ProxyMed system to inquire on a patients’ eligiblity and benefit summary, status of a claim, submit claims online, and perform other transactions using only one internet system connected to all of the payor systems.

ConnectiCare has a flexible approach to working with health care professionals over the Internet. For example, we are currently working with ProHealth Physicians, the largest group practice of primary care physicians in Connecticut, to pilot the new Healinx webVisitTM technology. The webVisitTM is a non-urgent, structured clinical consultation between a patient and his or her established physician, with the goal of improving patient care and satisfaction, enhancing the patient-doctor relationship, and making health care more accessible to patients.
