You probably already know about Medicare. You’ve probably also heard about Medicare Part D drug plans. But most people think they only have two choices: Original Medicare, which includes Part A (hospital coverage) and Part B (optional medical coverage), or Original Medicare plus a Medicare Supplement (“Medigap”) Policy, designed to fill in the gaps in Parts A and B.
But did you know that you now have more Medicare options?
It's True. Now you can enroll in what’s called a Medicare Advantage Plan. Medicare Advantage Plans are health plan options that are approved by Medicare and run by private companies. They are part of the Medicare Program and sometimes are called “Part C.” When you join a Medicare Advantage Plan, you are still receiving your Medicare benefits. Medicare Advantage Plans provide all of your Part A and Part B coverage and generally offer extra benefits.
