Biography:
Teresa Athas is coordinator of worksite wellness programs at ConnectiCare and a registered dietitian with over 30 years of experience in the field of nutrition and health. In her role with ConnectiCare, she is responsible for meeting the health education needs of our employer groups. While in private practice as a Registered Dietitian with a cardiology group in New Britain, the focus of her work included disease prevention and lifestyle management in response to diagnosed heart disease. Additionally, Teresa has served as a health educator at the Women’s Center for Wellness in Vernon, Connecticut and at various health care facilities. Teresa’s experience, both with groups and in individual counseling, has given her the opportunity to play a significant role in educating people on such pertinent topics as disease prevention/ risk reduction, health promotion, fad diets, and other consumer health issues.
