ConnectiCare Gives Back $874,000 to the Community

February 19, 2008 - Farmington, CT - ConnectiCare gave back $874,000 to the community in 2007. Funds were donated to community organizations through a series of employee campaigns, sponsorships, and charitable giving.

"For a long time our company has engaged the community beyond our business. We actively seek ways to support non-profit and health-based organizations," says Stephen Jewett, Director of Communications.

"We are a local company based in Farmington. Our business relies upon multiple relationships in the community and we want to do our best to give back when we can. We hope to be viewed as a responsible and caring community partner. The state of the community has an impact on both our employees and our business."

ConnectiCare's top giving event is the annual United Way Campaign. In 2007, 71% of their employees participated and raised $108,000 in donations. Since 1998, ConnectiCare has contributed $1,255,500 to the United Way of the Capital Area.

The company mission is to improve the health of our members and the giving program has extended that mission to the broader community. ConnectiCare evaluates programs that center on wellness, prevention, and increasing access to medical services. Further, they look highly on programs that align with their health management programs.
