 HealthLeaders Magazine Selects ConnectiCare’s Senior Team as 2006 Top Leaders —The Top Leadership Team Award celebrates the outstanding teamwork that occurs in health care organizations each day and highlights what makes top leadership teams successful. ConnectiCare was chosen among health plans throughout the nation.

HealthLeaders said, “ConnectiCare is recognized as a health plan that has created a companywide culture of teamwork that has helped the company earn high ranks for quality and service.”

 U.S.News & World Report/NCQA America’s Best Health Plans — According to the magazine’s annual health plan honor roll, U.S.News & World Report has ranked ConnectiCare, Inc. among the top ten health plans in the nation. In fact ConnectiCare, Inc. was ranked sixth in the nation back to back in 2005 and 2006.

 NCQA — ConnectiCare’s mission has always been to improve the health of our members. Our efforts have been recognized by our industry’s toughest critic, the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). NCQA is a private, not-for-profit organization that accredits health plans based on a rigorous and comprehensive evaluation process. Since 1997, ConnectiCare has had full accreditation from NCQA. In 1999, Connecticare was recognized for superior quality and service by being granted and “Excellent” accreditation status and maintains this status today.

First in 2003 and again in 2006, ConnectiCare is one of a handful of health plans in the nation to receive a full three-year patient-oriented NCQA accreditation of its health management programs (high-risk pregnancy, asthma, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and diabetes).

The NCQA health management accreditation signifies that ConnectiCare's health management programs, developed and operating since 1995, are recognized as the highest quality, most effective programs by the leading independent authority (NCQA) in evaluating and measuring quality in managed health care.

We also earned NCQA accreditation with Quality Plus Distinction, for meeting NCQA's "Member Connections" standards. In 2006, NCQA recognized ConnectiCare for providing members and employers with in-depth information about plan quality and performance through the use of innovative Web technology such as online consumer health tools

 CAHPS scores — ConnectiCare earned the highest member satisfaction score for customer service and claims processing of any health plan in Connecticut — and well above the national average, according to the 2006 Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems Survey (CAHPS).

 HEDIS® scores — In 2006, ConnectiCare was ranked among the highest overall for Connecticut Health Plans according to Health Plan Employer Data and Information Set (HEDIS). HEDIS scores are standard measurement tools that consumers can use to compare health plans.

 Double Award Winner, American Association of Health Plans (AAHP) Award — In 2002, ConnectiCare earned an Exemplary Practice Award for our asthma program, BREATHE. ConnectiCare also took third place in Innovative Quality Improvement for our Adult Immunization Program.

 ConnectiCare Quality Improvement - Since 1997, ConnectiCare is an eight-time winner of the Connecticut Quality Improvement Award (CQIA). ConnectiCare has received gold and silver awards for managing disease and improving patient care quality.
